One of the 52 shakti peeths, the Bahuchar Mata Temple is found in Becharaji close to Mehsana, and about 100+ kms from Ahmedabad. It was in 1839 AD by that the temple was built by Manajirav Gaiakwad sarkar. The residing Goddess Bahuchar Maa has many legends attached to her form. The temple was built at the location where the left hand of the Goddess, according to Tantra Chudamani, fell in the boruvan when Lord Shiva was performing the Tandava dance. Also, a legend says, the goddess helped saints who were being harassed by the Bhundasur demon. Millions of devotees line up at the temple for puja to this goddess of miracles.
