Temple – Mansa Devi Mandir
Perched atop Bilwa Parvat on the Shivalik Hills, Mansa Devi temple is a Shakti Peeth that has emerged from the mind of Lord Shiva. In the human form Goddess Mansa is the daughter of Shiva and sister of Naga Vasuki. Mansa Devi is a wish full-filling Goddess. Devotees reach out to her and tie threads on the tree branches and once their manokamna is full-filled they come and untie the thread. Mansa Devi temple is also referred to as Bilwa Tirth one among the five pilgrimage points, Panch Tirth, within Haridwar. Maa Mansa is offered fruits, coconuts, flowers and incense sticks for prayer. There are three Siddh Peeths in Haridwar, Mansa Devi, Chandi Devi and Maya Devi. The inner shrine at Mansa Devi has two deities, one with eight arms and the other with three heads and five arms.
